Shia LaBeouf Released From Hospital

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- After a nearly five-day stay, Shia LaBeouf has been released from the hospital following his car accident in Los Angeles.

The "Transformers" star was released from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Thursday night, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

LaBeouf, 22, was admitted to the hospital early Sunday morning after rolling his Ford F-150 truck in a traffic collision.

At the hospital, LaBeouf was booked on suspicion of DUI shortly before undergoing surgery on his left hand, which was injured in the crash.

But while authorities believed the actor was drunk, one person who says otherwise is LaBeouf's "Transformers" director Michael Bay.

In an interview with Billy Bush for Access Hollywood and "The Billy Bush Show," Bay said several hours had past between the time his star had his last drink and when the accident happened.

"You're gonna see - that's gonna go away," Bay told Billy. "That's fresh news He was not drunk. He was drinking hours and hours before."

As far as the injury to LaBeouf's hand goes, the director said they may actually write that into the "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" script.

"I spoke to him [Wednesday] in the hospital," Bay added. "His two fingers are pretty mashed, but we're figuring out a way to shoot around it, kind of write it in the story."

    omgsh!!!! i love shia shaide labeouf!!! he is the #1 person that i care about. i am sooo happy and relived that he is okay. i am his #1 fan, i celebrated his birthday, cried when all this %@!*# happened to him, and i am so proud of him for using a fake cigarette to try and quite smoking. i am pissed at Selina Gomez for liking him, i want to slaughter her where she stands.

    I can't believe he was in a car accident! I have never seen his hand and how badly it is injured but I hope he and his hand is going to be ok.

    I like this guy, but what was he thinking? I really hope he makes a full recovery and doesn't do this type of thing again. I know the wreck wasn't his fault, but come on - he should have never been driving if he was drinking.

    Please , please get over yourselves shia is a great actor and a wonderful talent (did you see disturbia). I personally love seeing him on the screen. I say he's human not saying that he was drunk because none of us were there but he is human not to mention he's in his early twenties guys this age get into more trouble than this.
