LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Shania Twain is the latest name to temporarily fill the "American Idol" seat left vacant by Paula Abdul, a rep for the show confirmed to Access Hollywood.
The mega-selling pop-country crossover star is set to "Come on Over" to the judging panel, joining Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi at an upcoming "Idol" audition in Chicago, the rep said.

And while Shania is gearing up to take her seat on the panel, Jessica Simpson is not.
The blonde country singer's dad shot down a report in the New York Post that he is working to get his daughter Paula's vacant position.

"So, I am in thailand... But, of course, the post says I am in town trying to get [Jessica] to be the replacement for paula abdul.... Do the lies ever stop????"
As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, Victoria Beckham recently filled in as guest judge. Katy Perry and Mary J. Blige have also been tapped to help out, but have not yet filmed their spot.
