Selena Gomez graces the September cover of Teen Vogue, just in time for a little promotion for her new movie, "Hotel Transylvania" that's set to hit theaters in late September 2012. In the accompanying interview, she chatted about her career, her style and her love life. So what do you think about her new magazine cover and interview? Love it or hate it?
On the September cover, the beauty is sporting a casual comfy look consisting of a Jill Stuart bralet under an American Eagle Outfitters button down top that's tied at her midriff. She went low-key on the accessories with a bracelet, small earrings, a gold necklace and several rings. Her wavy hair is wind-blown while the makeup is extremely natural. There's nothing that stands out about the photo, but she still looks lovely.
In the pictorial, she looks much more natural than she did in a previous shoot with the magazine. The first photo is one that seems to be something a parent would want to hang on the wall - simple, black-and-white and utterly charming. In the second photo, she's wearing an oversized gray and white Tse sweater as she sits in the sand. Another picture shows her sitting in a beach chair on the sand looking like any normal girl who's relaxing a bit at the shore. She's wearing denim Citizens of Humanity shorts and a loose-fitting gray Lacoste top while her hair is pulled back in a messy style. While a gazing-off-in-the-distance shot is usually super-cheesy, she makes it look natural.
In the next picture she's donning navy blue Theyskens' Theory shorts and an adorable navy blue and white A.P.C. cardigan with a white tank underneath. Her hair is pulled back in a loose ponytail and it's such a relatable photo. It wouldn't be surprising if teens were running out to copy this look. The last photo shows the stunner lying in the sand wearing a white Jill Stuart bralet under a gray mesh Michael Kors sweater. Maybe it's because she wasn't over-styled, but it's arguably one of the best shoots she's done. She's one of those natural beauties and doesn't need to wear heavy makeup and it's wonderful that teens can see her in that way knowing she's still considered gorgeous enough to be in a magazine.
With everything the 20-year-old has already accomplished, it's interesting to hear that she doesn't feel as though she's accomplished enough. When discussing her acting goals, she says "Being part of the Disney Channel was such a blessing, and I'm super happy with what my show accomplished, but acting is something I would like to take on more seriously. I don't necessarily feel accomplished. I want to create a whole different persona when it comes to acting." When asked about her ideal music collaboration, she doesn't choose her boyfriend, but instead picks another singer of the same name. The songstress explains "Who I would die to work with, but I don't think he ever would-I don't even think he's doing music anymore-is Justin Timberlake. Just 'cause I love his music sooo much." Ironically, Bieber's music has occasionally been mistaken with that of Timberlake's.
When it comes to shopping, the "Monte Carlo" actress isn't all about the heavy price tags. While talking about her style, she said "I've never been comfortable with saying, 'Here's a top that I'm going to sell for $350, and it's just a T-shirt.' I get sent things that are really nice, and I'm like, 'This is cute,' and I look at the tag and it's $200. I'm like, Oh my gosh, people probably think I buy it, and I don't. It's really weird." Although the former Disney star has been dating Justin for almost two years, she's just taking things in stride. While many girls would make a flying leap down the aisle if given the chance with the Biebs, she said of her relationship "It's really fun. I'm lucky. I'm 20. I don't take anything in my personal life too seriously. I have great friends and a solid group of people I love. I feel like everything else will come organically." Kudos to her for enjoying her youth and not rushing things.
So let's hear it! What do you think of Selena's new photos and interview?
