Selena Gomez: The Advice My Mom Gave Me That I Live By

Selena bares all in the brand-new July issue of Elle, including the best advice her mother ever gave her!

Selena Gomez‘s racy new July cover is certainly raising some eyebrows, but a behind-the-scenes video of the photo shoot reveals Selena’s touching advice from her mom! Awww!

Selena got her start on Disney, and she’s been in the industry since she was 7! But her mother’s advice has always stuck with Selena.

“The advice that my mom gave me in the beginning… is if I’m not having fun — if I’m really not enjoying it anymore — she doesn’t want me to do it,” says Selena.

How sweet! The new star of Spring Breakers certainly seems like she’s having a good time, but she admits there are downsides to fame.

However, Selena says that despite all of the “annoying” obstacles that sometimes bring her down, “I always have to remind myself that when I’m on set, and when I’m on stage, and I’m with my fans, it’s extremely rewarding and it’s still a lot of fun for me.”
