It's official! Seal is back on the dating market after confirming that his marriage to Heidi Klum is officially on the rocks.
The couple, who have been married since 2005, released the following statement about their split earlier this week, "While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate. We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition. We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children's sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy."
The couple met and started dating in 2003. They were married in Mexico in May 2005. As a couple, they would rekindle their marriage annually in a re-commitment ceremony with their growing family on hand to help them celebrate. The couple has three children together - Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2. Klum has a daughter, Leni, 7, from a previous relationship.
For his part, the singer is standing up for his relationship and his soon-to-be former wife during several public appearances scheduled for this week. This morning he stopped by the "Ellen DeGeneres" show with his wedding ring still in place on his left hand.
"I am still wearing my ring," he said. "I think it's just pretty much a token of how I feel about this woman. We have eight years. Eight wonderful years together. Just because we have decided to separate doesn't necessarily mean you take off your ring and you're no longer connected to that person. Will we wear the rings for the rest of our lives? Who knows? But right now it feels really comfortable on my hand, so I have no intention of taking it off anytime soon."
