Many people were disappointed to find out that singer Seal and his wife, model Heidi Klum, of nearly seven years were divorcing. Seal was a guest on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" and opened up about his marriage and subsequent split, and said that he has "tremendous admiration, respect and love," for his supermodel wife.
The British soul and R & B singer also remarked, "Heidi has given me four incredible gifts: four beautiful children. She still, in my opinion, is the most wonderful woman in the world. I think our priority was to remain civil and do this thing with dignity. We still very much love each other."
While the couple's official statement in regard to the divorce was that they just "grew apart," it seems a bit strange since they renewed their vows on every wedding anniversary. Just last May they celebrated their sixth anniversary with a ceremony in Palm Beach, Florida with a fancy affair that included 100 close friends and their four children.
It was just a little over two years ago, on October 9, 2009, that the couple welcomed their fourth child into the world. Seal commented that Lou Sulola Samuel was the answer to the question, "It's difficult to imagine loving another child as much as you love your existing children. Anyone who has a family will tell you this. Where will one find that extra love? If you love your existing children with all of your heart, how then can one possibly find more heart with which to love another?"
The couple's family was started with Klum's baby by another man. The 48-year-old singer started dating the German supermodel when she was pregnant with Flavio Briatore's child. Seal always treated Leni like his own, and adopted her in 2009.
The pair seemed to have a fairytale romance, with Seal proposing to the gorgeous blonde in an igloo that was built just for that moment at the spectacular ski resort town of Whistler in British Columbia, back on December 23, 2004. They wed on the beach in Mexico at sunset on May 10, 2005, when Klum was five months pregnant with their first child together, Henry Gunther Ademola Dashtu Samuel, who was born in September.
After the wedding, Seal remarked, "We were always going to be together. It was always going to work." Sadly, it seems to have gone the way of many Tinsel Town romances, ending before their seventh anniversary could be celebrated.
