NEW YORK, New York -- Scarlett Johansson 's directorial debut has been left on the cutting room floor, the New York Post reported.

The "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" star reportedly directed a segment for the upcoming anthology film "New York, I Love You," which is set to feature work from Brett Ratner and Scarlett's "The Other Boleyn Girl" co-star Natalie Portman .

According to a Post source, Scarlett's segment was cut for quality.

"It was really bad," the source said. "Unwatchable."

But the film's producer, Emmanuel Benbihy, told the tabloid her film just didn't fit with the rest of the movie's love stories.

"The story did not specifically involve an interpersonal relationship, and it was conceptualized to be filmed in black and white - both of which were extreme departures from the other films," Emmanuel said, calling her work "extremely compelling."

"After months of editing... I had to admit that there were editorial decisions to be made in the interesting of serving the overall narrative and composition that resulted in previously filmed scenes and footage not getting used," he added.

Fans will reportedly be able to see Scarlett's segment on the DVD. She's currently filming "Iron Man 2," in which she stars as Russian femme fatale the Black Widow.
