Don't be a bit surprised if you can't seem to keep up with Scarlett Johansson's love life; you're likely not the only one. The "Hitchcock" bombshell called it quits with her boyfriend Nate Naylor in October after dating quietly for several months. But before we could wrap our heads (or headlines) around that union, she's moved on again - this time with French journalist Romain Dauriac. So far, there's nothing out of the ordinary with this pairing. But we can't help but note that quite a few Hollywood starlets are falling for Frenchmen these days.
If there were anyone who could speak the language of love and convince the twice-divorced Halle Berry to give marriage another try, it would have to be French actor Olivier Martinez. Following her painful split with (French-Canadian) model Gabriel Aubry, the single mom fell hard and fast for the "Unfaithful" star, even planning a permanent move to France to start afresh. (A judge recently nixed her plans to move with daughter, Nahla.)
It came as a surprise to quite a few that Australian actress Melissa George had been seeing hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons. The pair shared a pretty stealthy romance; but by February 2012, it was clear the two were history. At a BAFTA after-party, George caused whispers by sharing a passionate smooch with a new dark-haired gentleman. The mystery guy happens to be Jean-David Blanc, a French millionaire, with whom she's happily considering having children.
Halle Berry isn't the only celebrity who's considered purchasing a home in France. "Boys Don't Cry" actress Hilary Swank is also said to be looking at properties overseas. Businessman Laurent Fleury is currently the apple of Swank's eye; and sources claim the "blissfully in love" star is making big moves to start a new life with Fleury. She recently listed her California estate for nearly $9.5 million. That's just a tip of the iceberg. Learning the language, considering a career in French film, and buying an apartment in Paris are all on the agenda.
Mary-Kate Olsen is at the center of what many would consider one of Hollywood's most interesting pairings. The diminutive fashion mogul has enjoyed a few high-profile relationships, but her new dalliance with frenchman Olivier Sarkozy is causing a stir for several reasons. Their 16-year age difference might not be such a big deal if the Olsen twin didn't look so incredibly young next to her beau - who appears much, much older by comparison. All "father-daughter/May-December" jokes aside, if Mary -Kate and Olivier ever made it down the aisle, she would officially be the sister in-law of former French President Nicolas Sarkozy.
