GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Sarah Palin says variety is the spice of life.
The former Alaska governor stopped to chat with Access Hollywood's Maria Menounos on her book tour in Grand Rapids, MI on Wednesday, where Maria handed Sarah some elk jerky.

"Oh, you have jerky?" Sarah said. "Thank you so much. What's it made of?"
"It's actually made out of elk, I wanted to make sure you were well fed," Maria told her.

"I need that variety, not just moose and caribou and bear. I need some elk, thank you," Sarah said.
The hungry former vice presidential candidate also had a moment to speak with Access about political matters, going against a government task force's new recommendations about women not getting mammograms until age 50.
"I think that's a dangerous recommendation," she said. "You can talk to any cancer survivor who was diagnosed early thanks to an early mammogram and I would think that they would tell you much differently than what you're hearing today."
Sarah then gave a speech to the cheering, thousand-strong crowd at the Grand Rapids Barnes & Noble, telling the audience that their state had much in common with her home state.
"This is our first stop on the tour and there's just something about Michigan, I couldn't wait to get back to Michigan," she said. "Alaska and Michigan have so much in common, with the hunting and the fishing and the hockey moms and just the hard-working, patriotic American who are here -- this is the heart of industry in our country and I would like to see for this heart of industry, for you all to see a revitalization of your economy... and to be able to see, really some miraculous things happen in this part of our land."

Don't let some idiot who does not have breasts tell you what to do with yours. Get a baseline at 35 years old and a annual mammograms at age 40. Earlier if you have a family history.
