Sarah Jessica Parker spent years portraying Carrie Bradshaw on "Sex and the City" but she isn't about to dole out any advice to the next actress to take on the role. 18-year-old starlet AnnaSophia Robb will play the stylish fashion icon in "The Carrie Diaries," a prequel TV series set to debut on CW. According to the older actress, there is really nothing she can say to help Robb prepare for the role. "I would never give advice. No, no, no," says Parker. "It's like someone giving romance advice or parenting advice. It's such a unique experience, playing a part and I'm sure they found someone wonderful." Parker and Robb are not the first actresses to play the same character. Here is a look at some other actresses that share a common role in movies or TV shows.
The "Dawson's Creek" star got some major street cred when she signed up for the role of Rachel Dawes in the superhero movie "Batman Begins." Unfortunately for Tom Cruise's wife, she did not return for the blockbuster sequel. Gyllenhaal took over as Rachel for "The Dark Knight" and worked with Heath Ledger, her brother Jake's co-star from "Brokeback Mountain." The character will not appear in the third Batman movie due out in July, so there is no chance that a third actress will join these two in the near future.
These two talented actresses each played the role of Clarice Starling, the talented FBI agent that works with the psychotic Hannibal Lecter in two successful movies. Of the two, it is safe to say that Foster ended up winning the head-to-head battle over which star played the character better. She picked up her second Oscar for the role in "The Silence of the Lambs." Meanwhile, the red-headed Moore barely received any notice when she took over for the less popular sequel "Hannibal" a decade later.
There probably aren't a lot of people out there today that would ever think that these two played the same character but it happened in the 1995 drama "Now And Then." The outspoken talk show hosts plays Roberta Martin, a confident doctor in the movie. Ricci, known for dark roles in movies like "Sleepy Hollow," plays the tomboyish younger version of the character. Their careers certainly went on very different paths after this movie was released.
