From the bar room to the board room, sexy icon of modern womanhood, Sarah Jessica Parker, will have Carrie Bradshaw's dream job on Season 4 of "Glee." She'll be an executive at Vogue running internet outlet Vogue.com.
What fashionista wouldn't die for that job?
According to "Glee" co-creator and executive producer Ian Brennan, Parker's character will be more funny and endearing than haughty and demanding ala Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) in "The Devil Wears Prada." Brennan describes Parker's character as "frazzled, eccentric, hilarious."
Both new characters will appear in the story line that follows Rachel and Kurt (Chris Colfer) to New York, which suggests that the show's emphasis may be shifting away from McKinley High.
Hudson and Parker join a growing list of popular actors and actresses embracing the small screen. Here are a few more.
Jennifer Hudson - Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson is slated to appear on Season 2 of "Smash," as a successful Broadway actress with tales to tell and advice to give. Last Season film star, Uma Thurman did a turn on the show, about the creation of a musical from conception to production. Thurman played an insecure diva, who had the entourage, but not the talent to carry her lead spot in the show.
Jessica Lange - Lange has to be happy with her decision to take on the role of Constance on "American Horror Story." The "Blue Sky" actress got to play another mentally deranged character, to fantastic critical acclaim. She took home a Prime Time Emmy for her performance.
There's one thing I never could figure out, though, was Constance one of the dead characters or living? And why wasn't she in prison for killing Moira? I guess part of the appeal of this series is how it keeps us guessing.
Laurence Fishburne - according to TV Guide the "Matrix" hero will join the cast of the new NBC series " Hannibal," Yes, it is based on the character of Hannibal Lecter from "The Silence of the Lambs." No, Fishburne doesn't play the title character. He'll be FBI special agent Jack Crawford, a supporting role.
Hugh Dancy plays the lead role, Will Graham, a criminal profiler who utilizes Lecter's (Mads Mikkelsen) unique uh - perspective - to hunt a serial killer. Fishburne will be Graham's boss.
Fishburne has appeared on TV before, most recently as Dr. Raymond Langston on "CSI: New York."
