    Ryan Seacrest Launching New Cable Network

    As if his current gigs as the host of American Idol and E! News, a morning Los Angeles radio personality, Crest spokesman and production company head weren't enough, Ryan Seacrest is set to launch his very own cable network.

    The media mogul, 36, is teaming with Mark Cuban, concert promoter AEG and Hollywood talent agency Creative Artists Agency to revamp billionaire Cuban's HDnet into AXS TV.

    Featuring behind-the-scenes coverage of concerts, red carpets and awards shows, AXS TV (pronounced 'access') has been a labor of love three years in the making for Seacrest.

    "We've been diligently working with our partners AEG and CAA to strategize and explore how we could deliver quality live entertainment and lifestyle programming to a large audience," Seacrest said in a statement Wednesday. "HDNet is the perfect partner to help us translate our vision into a reality, giving us an instant reach into 35 million homes when we rebrand the channel and launch AXS TV."

    The Idol host's Ryan Seacrest Productions -- which spearheaded E!'s Kardashian reality franchise -- will also develop and produce content for AXS TV.

      I don't have a problem with Seacrest. He's a sharp guy. He knows American Popular Culture like a drunk knows a bottle of vodka.

      But even more, he knows that a large section of the public suffer from a disease called Celebrity Worship.

      Seacrest is in a position the he can choose to do anything we wants. Instead of doing something of substance and creating a legacy for himself, He's chooses to be a pusher and feed the disease.

      I hope they don't revamp HDNet. I like that channel and the shows it produces now. I mean we already have the E and Style networks. Just leave the others alone. Hasn't he learned anything from Oprah. Look at the trouble she's been having since taking over Discovery Health.

      Ryan Seacrest, the person that brought us the Kardashian disaster. What good he is doing for society. Just what the world needs more of, shows about people with no morals or values, just worshiping the almighty dollar. Something our kids can benefit from.

        BB I would hope if you did not want YOUR children to watch this new network or anything about the Kardashians block the channel , it is simple as that. I am sure you have parent controll on your TV. And did you really believe Ryan would not bring the Kardashians with him, he knows how popular they are. They have the top slots in ratings done by Nielson on channel E! Whether you like them or not, just block the channel and you will not worry about your kids wanting to make the almighty dollar. Which worries me, are you teaching your children to be less by thinking life is wonderful without the almighty dollar, are you teaching them to grow up and work for McDonalds? As a parent I would hope you would want your children to make something of themselves. Children learn from parents and family, I doubt they depend on televisions to make decisions for their life. If they debend on a TV show to make decisions maybe you need to look at your own parenting skills.

        Dawn, firstly learn how to spell or check spellcheck, prior to entering your comment as you move forward! Second, there are plenty of familes who unfortunately place their children in front of the television, as their cheap and easily available babysitter!
        Where is our society going to, when it finds Kardashian's as an entertainment value? Their no more then used cattle, like most of the pageant shows on television today. Yes, children do learn from parents and their surroundings, but when you have parents that don't participate in their growing process, you have what we have this very day, a Disfunctional Society.
        Open your eyes and ears, and you will truly see & hear it all for yourself!!
