Ryan O'Neal Cancer Prognosis 'Very Positive'
A rep for Ryan O'Neal says that despite being diagnosed with stage 2 prostate cancer, the Oscar-nominated actor is continuing his television work and will move forward with his planned book tour.
"Ryan is currently working on Bones and despite reports to the contrary, his prognosis is very positive and he expects a full recovery," the rep tells ET. "He is going on a book tour for Both of Us: My Life with Farrah and will start treatment for his prostate cancer when he's done." The book is set to be released May 1.

O'Neal -- who lost his longtime partner Farrah Fawcett to cancer in 2009 -- revealed his prostate cancer diagnosis on Friday.
"Although I was shocked and stunned by the news, I feel fortunate that it was detected early and according to my extraordinary team of doctors the prognosis is positive for a full recovery, I am deeply grateful for the support of my friends and family during this time, and I urge everyone to get regular check-ups, as early detection is the best defense against this horrible disease that has afflicted so many."

O'Neal, 70, was diagnosed and treated once before for leukemia, a disease he was able to overcome in the late '90s.
