Russell Brand: ‘I Still Love’ Katy Perry
British comedian Russell Brand dished about his ex-wife Katy Perry in a new interview, and it sounds like he’s still in love with her!
After only 14 months of marriage, British comedian Russell Brand filed for divorce from pop star Katy Perry, but it sounds like the funnyman may be having a change of heart!
“I still love her as a human being,” Russell, 36, revealed during The Ellen Show on May 17. “But, sometimes when you’re in a relationship I suppose it doesn’t work out, does it? But that doesn’t mean I regret it or anything.”
The two finalized their divorce in February, and since then, Katy, 27, has been spotted cozying up to Florence + The Machine guitarist, Robert Ackroyd. As HollywoodLife.com earlier reported, Katy and Robert were spotted packing on the PDA at the Coachella Music Festival in April.
“It’s the happiest she’s been in a long time,” a source told us.
Even though Russell didn’t waste any time before moving on to several other women, he looks back on his marriage to Katy with nothing but admiration. “I was very happy to be married with her,” he revealed. “She’s such a beautiful human being and I just have only love and positivity for her.”
Despite his praise, Russell decided to unfollow Katy on Twitter last week. Perhaps seeing her happy with a new beau was just too much to handle? “[She is] a person I still consider to be beautiful . . . I have nothing but positivity for her,” he gushed.
So, why the split? “You can’t absolutely make everything the way you want it to be in life,” he admitted. “Sometimes things are just different and then you to just move with that and try and remain in contact with what is beautiful about yourself and each other with any situation.”
