"Saturday Night Live" funnygirl Kristen Wiig and Mr. Katy Perry, Russell Brand, were voted PETA's Sexiest Vegetarians in the animal rights organization's annual poll. The pair won over other finalists like Natalie Portman, Joaquin Phoenix, Bill Clinton, Steve-O, Mos Def, Anne Hathaway and previous winners Leona Lewis and Olivia Wilde.
Brand wrote in his memoir that he's been a vegetarian since he was 14-years-old. He even managed to keep it up during his years of heavy drug use.
"Even as a junkie I stayed true (to vegetarianism)," Brand wrote in his memoir, "My Booky Wook." "I shall have heroin, but I shan't have a hamburger. What a sexy little paradox."
He even refuses to take a popular health supplement because it's derived from fish.
"I'm vegetarian. I think it's cruel to squeeze oil out of a fish. ...['C]ause they're lovely little guys, aren't they?" the actor told Kelly Ripa in April. "You shouldn't eat animals; it's mean to them."
He was pretty pumped about the award, too.
"Thanks for voting me PETA's sexiest vegetarian. Now no-one will be sure what I mean when I offer them a nut roast," he tweeted.
Wiig hasn't let her hectic "Saturday Night Live" and movie filming schedule affect her vegetarian ways.
"I'm a vegetarian; I eat a lot of tofu and soy," Wiig told Women's Health of her diet. "I do have a splurge day once a week when I can eat whatever I want. It's good, because it helps you stay on track the rest of the week."
Who are Brand and Wiig joining in PETA's sexiest club?
Newly-single actress Olivia Wilde won the award in 2010, thanks to a committed vegan diet.
"Beyond my desire to boycott the torture factories, I am also way happier when I eat a plant based diet, and I feel about a thousand times more energetic," she said after winning.
"The Biggest Loser" trainer Bob Harper also won the 2010 award for his vegan lifestyle. Harper started the lifestyle to inspire his "Biggest Loser" contestants, but he received some unexpected health benefits in the process.
"I enjoy living a plant-based diet because it makes me feel clear headed and strong, not to mention my genetically high cholesterol dropped more than 100 points," he told PETA. "That was all the motivation I needed."
Country music superstar Carrie Underwood is known for his love of animals, so it's no wonder she was voted one of PETA's sexiest two times: once in 2005 and again in 2007. She was also a runner-up for the 2011 awards.
"I quit eating beef when I was somewhere between 10 and 13 because we do have cows and I did bottle feed them and stuff like that. They were like my pets," Underwood said in 2005 of her veggie roots. "I had an incident one day that made me refuse to eat beef ever, ever again."
