Russell Brand To Host ‘MTV Movie Awards’: Will Katy Perry Go?
MTV has just announced that the British comedian is set to host the awards show on June 3 and Katy has gone the past several years and even performed! Will she skip it this year?
Russell Brand is back to reclaim his MTV throne. MTV has just announced that Russell will host the MTV Movie Awards on June 3 live from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, Calif!
“With his amazing ability to span the full spectrum of comedy,” The President of MTV, Stephen Friedman said. “From the most high to lowbrow, Russell’s smart, unpredictable wit uniquely connects him to our audience.”
This will be Russell’s first time to host the Movie Awards but this isn’t his first time to take the stage at an MTV event. In 2008, russell hosted the MTV Video Music Awards and hosted it again the following year.
Katy Perry and Russell met at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2009 and were married the following year in India. The big question is will she attend this year while her ex is on the stage. Katy has performed the past several years at the show and it would definitely be a disappointment to her fans if she skipped it!
They couple filed for divorce in January.
