Rosie O'Donnell: Elisabeth Hasselbeck Is 'A Little Republican Who Scared Me'

Access Hollywood - April 9, 2008 9:06 PM PDT

NEW YORK, New York -- It's been almost a year since Rosie O'Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck had their notorious spat, that led to Rosie leaving "The View" - and Rosie is still talking about it.

The former talk show host and current celeb-blogger opened up to Martha Stewart on her morning television show about the reasons for her departure from the morning gab fest.

"I tried my best but it's hard for me when I'm not the boss," Rosie told Martha. "There was [sic] people there telling me what to do. There was a little Republican who scared me."

Rosie was replaced by Whoopi Goldberg as the lead host on 'The View."

Everyone on this comment board is spot on!!! Rosie needs to just shut her mouth and go away. She does make liberals look bad. The sad part she thinks by being this way makes her strong well she looks weak. I'm so tired of her hiding behind being a lesbian I know some and they are not even close to being like her. We should stop giving her airtime and maybe she will go away

Yep --Rosie leaving is the best thing that can happen to TV. BTW Rosie - Republican isnt a dirty word. Hate filled, anti-american Bush hater is a bad word and that is what Rosie is!! Elis is the only sane, smart conservative one on that show. She balances out the rest of the far left. PPl dont like her b/c they are jealous of her beauty and brains

Good riddance to this abrasive, control freak Rosie O'Donnell. The View is a better show without her

Gay, straight, fat, skinny, pretty, ugly, Republican, Democrat - I don't care. O'Donnell is loudmouthed and pushy, with a thousand chips on her shoulder. She steamrolls and blames anyone that has a different opinion. The circumstances under which she accused Kelly Ripa (some time ago) of being homophobic, proved to me that O'Donnell is paranoid and ignorant.

I liked her show well enough back in the day, and she's a lesbian--good for her; whatever rocks your socks. However, over the years, she has become nothing more than a bully. There is a huge difference between being a strong woman and being a %@!*#. Oprah is a strong woman; Rosie is a loud-mouthed pushy %@!*#. I'm a liberal, but feel that she is makes our cause look bad...

I can't imagine Rosie being scared of anyone, regardless of their political party. What was she afraid of? Having to actually listen to someone else who had a different opionion? It is fine for her to dominate conversations when she is pushing her agenda, but offer someone else the same consideration and she is intolerant.
