LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- "Rosie Live" is unlikely to live on, Rosie O'Donnell revealed on Saturday.

"There will b no more," she wrote on her Web site. "No ratings, bad reviews. Yet still -- a thrill 4 me."

Her Wednesday night variety show earned a mere 5 million viewers, according to Entertainment Weekly. By contrast, her former "The View" co-host Barbara Walters scored a reported 11.7 million viewers for her sit-down with President-elect Barack Obama and his wife, Michelle, later that evening.

Responding to fans' questions on her site, Rosie admitted the show had had problems.

"I was going for a rich, theater-like look," she wrote. "But many have said it was too dark. I get it.

"It was only a pilot," she continued. "The live part wasn't a plus."

But with other similar efforts on the way from Ellen DeGeneres, the Osbournes and a rumored project from pop musician John Mayer, she said her take on the variety show won't be the last.

"Many people r gonna try a variety show," she wrote. "One will work."

She may find out sooner rather than later -- Ellen's show, "Ellen's Even Bigger Really Big Show" airs on Saturday night on TBS.

    Rosie, you're a gay, loud mouthed, Hollywood big shot that deserved to lose this show. Almost everything she's talked about before centers around bashing our govt. & Reps. Even though she claimed she'd mellow out, others didn't believe her.People tuned out since she's so crude!

Among the interpretations on our English language, "Just marry a rich dike cause you aint going no where your a cry baby." Yeah, learn how to use an appostrophe, son. Oh, and not for nothing, but a "dike" is an intrusion of igneous rock, not the insult you were attempting

    You know i can care less about what rosie does, did, or didnt. But i was reading all the comments everyone of you wrote. And first of all i like to say is, All of you need to go back to school and take an english class because your in need of a refresher course badly.     too bad she doesn't read this stuff. knocking her down a few pegs might be just the thing she needs. it's time she realizes she's not as wonderful as she seems to think she is. losing some of that arrogance and egotism would be the best thing she could do for her image, which currently seems to be in the cra**er.

    rosie has a good heart and courage to keep trying new things, and she is talented this last venture just didn't work out haven't we all had that happen and we were not subjected to mean spirited comments about our efforts she does good work do you?
