A 'KILLED' CAREER? : The fallout stemming from Lindsay Lohan's latest arrest for an alleged DUI continues, as THE NY TIMES reports on the potential damage that could be done to her movie career as a result. The report claims that TriStar Pictures is attempting to downplay Lindsay's leading role in the marketing for their new thriller, "I Know Who Killed Me," and that scheduled production on her next film, "Poor Things," may again be in jeopardy. Lindsay was scheduled to appear on "The Tonight Show" to promote "I Know Who Killed Me" on Tuesday night, but the appearance was abruptly cancelled after her arrest Tuesday morning. The film has reportedly not been screened for critics, but TriStar frequently skips screenings for its horror and thriller offerings. Executives at TriStar, a division of Sony Pictures Entertainment, declined to comment to THE NY TIMES.

As for "Poor Things," the dark comedy in which Lindsay is slated to star with Shirley MacLaine and Olympia Dukakis, production was scheduled to begin in three weeks (after reportedly being delayed in May following Lohan's entry into rehab). With Lindsay now "presumably unavailable," it is unclear whether the film's financing will hold together, two people involved with the film reportedly told THE NY TIMES on Tuesday. While one of the film's producers, Rob Hickman, told Access Hollywood last week that reports of the film's cancelation were untrue and merely "rumor," a new statement was issued from Hickman following Lohan's latest arrest: "We continue to be enthusiastic in our belief in 'Poor Things,' and our sole focus is moving this film into production. We expect to announce details on a start date in the very near future." Whether Lohan will still be involved in the film remains to be seen. Hollywood talent manager Bernie Brillstein weighed in with his opinion on Lindsay, reportedly saying: "I hope they put her in jail for as long as they can, maybe she'll realize how serious it is. I believe she's uninsurable. And when you're uninsurable in this town, you're done." Lohan's publicist and manager did not respond to messages left by THE NY TIMES.

BOWLING WITH PAPA PITT: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have taken a break from their film careers to enjoy a ten-day vacation in France with their children. PEOPLE reports that the superstar couple capped off their sojourn with a family trip to a French bowling alley on Monday, along with friend Marianne Pearl (Angelina's real-life "A Might Heart" inspiration), and her son. While Jolie and Pearl reportedly spent time together, Pitt was "especially attentive" as he bowled with the kids, (Maddox, 5, Pax-Thien, 3, and Zahara, 2, and Adam Pearl, 5). "At one point though, because the children don't have the strength to always get the ball down the lane, it sometimes stops," alley owner Patrick Bernard reportedly said. "Brad thought he'd go down the lane to push it along. He slipped and fell on his back. Hard." Pitt survived the spill, but Bernard's wife was disappointed to have missed her "only chance in life to give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to Brad Pitt." Bernard admitted to being a little overwhelmed by the stars' visit to his humble establishment, reportedly saying, "With only two lanes we're certainly the smallest bowling in France, so we're still having trouble realizing we spent Monday afternoon with the most famous couple in the world."

'HEROES' GET BOOKED: The famous "Heroes" from NBC's hit TV show are about to be immortalized in a comic book, USA TODAY reports. DC Comics will offer a hardcover collection based on a series of 43 comic-book vignettes that appeared on the "Heroes" website last season. The book, which will be the first time the stories have been available in printed form, will reportedly feature works from some of comics' top talent, including artist Tim Sale, whose prophetic and apocalyptic paintings are used as story devices for many of the show's cliffhangers. "It works best when the painting on the show looks creepily like the scene you've just seen," Sale, who has provided more than 50 paintings for the series, reportedly said. The renowned artist added that he provided illustrations early on to help the series' creator sell the show to NBC. "[series creator] Tim Kring is not a comic-book guy," Sale is quoted as saying. "For all I know, he has never read one. But he has surrounded himself with a number of people who are immersed in it." Kring, in a statement, called the DC book "a dream come true."

'SUPER' PARIS GOES TO THE DOGS: Comic book legend Stan Lee has also dropped some news on the rumored animated project he's developing for MTV, said to be based on celebutante Paris Hilton. The Spider-man co-creator and star of Sci-Fi's "Who Wants to Be a Superhero?" told TV GUIDE what to expect from the Paris Hilton cartoon. "The project started long before [Paris] went to jail," he reportedly said. "She won't be your typical superhero -- it's a very funny, refreshing and compelling situation comedy." Lee, who formerly created the animated Pamela Anderson cartoon "Striperella" for Spike TV, offered his opinion of his latest celebrity inspiration. "I like [Paris], he reportedly said. "She's a nice, lovely girl."

As for Paris, PEOPLE reports that she's added a new addition to her ever growing wild kingdom: a new Chihuahua. The heiress reportedly adopted the young male pooch yesterday from LA's Pets of Bel Air, the same store where Britney Spears purchased her new Yorkie puppy less than two weeks ago. "She loved the puppy, she was all smiles and carried him out of the store in her arms," an onlooker is quoted as saying. A store employee reportedly added that Hilton was "so sweet." Hilton also recently bought a new Yorkie named Cinderella, and has another Chihuahua named Tinkerbell, among other pets. In 2005, Paris' pet kinkajou monkey, Baby Luv, was reportedly confiscated because it was considered an exotic species and was deemed illegal to own by Los Angeles officials.

DADDY DAY CARE: Former "Beverly Hills 90210" star Jason Priestley and wife Naomi Lowde-Priestley also welcomed a new family addition recently, when Naomi gave birth to the couple's first child, Ava, on July 2. While the Priestley's are overjoyed to have their new daughter in their lives, Jason told USMAGAZINE.COM that adjusting to parenthood was a little bumpy for them at first. Ava "cried all night," Jason reportedly said of the baby's first night at home. "We came home from the hospital and were like, 'Is this what it is like?'" Luckily for the new parents, Ava has since adjusted wonderfully to her new home. "She is very mellow," Naomi reportedly said. But that's not to say that there hasn't been "interesting moments" with the baby. "The other day I had her on my chest and she peed on me," Jason is quoted as saying. "But babies are like bunny rabbits. When they pee on you, it means they like you." The Priestleys (and other celebrity parents) share their stories in the latest issue of US, currently on newsstands.

SHOW ME THE MONEY!: And finally, REUTERS reports on a list of television's highest paid stars, compiled for the new issue of TV GUIDE. Clocking in at # 1 is Oprah Winfrey, who reportedly earns an estimated $260 million a year with her daytime talk show and other projects. "American Idol" judge Simon Cowell placed a distant second to Winfrey, with a reported $45 million for his role on the Fox network's smash hit talent show and other endeavors. Courtroom chief "Judge Judy" Sheindlin ($30 million), CBS News anchor Katie Couric ($15 million)and "Scrubs" actor Zach Braff ($6.3 million) round out the top five.

  • Let us just put Lindsay on ice and plug in some responsible and hot actors like Megan Fox or Megan Good. Financially, it is time hollywood moved away from the "name" and more toward who is going to show up and be serious about the work. I for one am over paying money to see actors mailing in performances because they are not prepared but they are under contract so we get mediocrity. Copy the Brits
