It seems as if Stefan Heidenreich, who is Nivea's new boss and the president of its parent company, Beiersdorf, isn't a fan of Rihanna's sexy ways, at least not when it comes to the company. RiRi, who signed on with the brand in 2011 before he joined the company, is now being given the heave-ho, but supposedly it has to do with the end of her contract and not this whole debacle. During an interview, Heidenreich reportedly said "Rihanna is a no go. I do not understand how to bring the core brand of Nivea in conjunction with Rihanna. Nivea is a company which stands for trust, family and reliability." If the singer is bothered by his comments, she's not leading on with her words. On August 7, she tweeted a photo of Nivea's boss along with "No caption necessary." We're pretty sure she's already over it. Other than getting shown the door, what else has she been up to lately?
The singer recently gave fans a glimpse into her private performance life by posting a series of black-and-white behind-the-scenes shots on Facebook of her at the Barclaycard Wireless Festival, Peace and Love Festival, Kollen Festival and Robin Hood Charity event. Some of the photos include her rehearsing on stage, performing in front of huge crowds and getting her makeup applied. It's an interesting side to her and one we're not used to seeing from that perspective. However, on August 7, she tweeted a few types of shots of her doing something we're quite familiar with - partying. In several photos, she's wearing black jeans, a white hat and a black-and-white striped top that she left wide open to reveal a checkered bra top. Her jewelry, sunglasses and mini beer bucket were the only accessories she needed.
The Bajan beauty is tied with Drake for five MTV Video Music Awards nominations. She's in some big categories including Video of the Year, Best Female Video, and Best Pop Video. In the Video of the Year category, she'll be going up against some heavy hitters including BFF Katy Perry for her song "Wide Awake." Her first VMA nomination was in 2006 in the Best New Artist category for her song "SOS." Since then she's had 11 additional nominations but only two wins for her song "Umbrella" back in 2007. Will this be her year? The awards ceremony will air on September 6, 2012.
The 24-year-old is setting records across the pond. Her second fragrance, Rebelle, is the fastest selling perfume in the United Kingdom after selling over 2 million bottles since its launch in February. The perfume has an exotic scent to it with a little touch of spice. It comes in a clear bottle that has a red ribbon design wrapped around it and looks similar to the bottle of her first perfume, Reb'l Fleur, which comes in the same style bottle but with a black ribbon design. The names for her perfumes initially stem from the nickname her grandmother gave her - Rebel Flower. To get your own bottle of Rebelle, it'll run you about $40 and up and comes in 1.7 ounce and 3.4 ounce bottles.
