If you've ever been to a fashion show, you know you're lucky just to get a seat inside. However, some celebrities get more than just a front-row seat - they get paid the big bucks to show up!
Take Rihanna for instance: The Barbados-born singer rakes in $100K to sit front row at fashion shows, sources say. This isn't necessarily a new thing, since she's been rumored to draw that much for a couple of years now. However, now rumors are suggesting she even gets more than Beyonce to appear at a show.
Money isn't the only thing celebs get. Designers and event planners pony up stylists and wardrobes because they know a celebrity endorsement can help them sell their wares.
"They fly them out and put them up," stylist Cameron Silver told The Hollywood Reporter, "and offer a nice Paris or Milan holiday, unless they're contractually obliged to attend. Others pay them an appearance fee."
Other celebrities like Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Chloe Sevigny and Blake Lively get paid five-figure sums to show up at shows. Must be rough. Well, fashion designers aren't the only people to pony up big cash to get celebrities to show up.
Singer Ashlee Simpson and her ex-husband Pete Wentz managed to pull in a hefty sum -- $150,000 - to show up at Miami's Shore Club on New Year's Eve 2008. They pair reportedly kissed and played DJ all night.
Sadly, even their big paydays for doing nothing couldn't keep these two together.
Kim Kardashian's paycheck to appear at Tao on New Year's Eve 2012 leaves the rest of these celebrities in the dust. The reality star earned a reported $600K to appear at the Las Vegas hotspot, according to RadarOnline.
It wasn't just for one night of work, though. The big check was said to be part of a multi-appearance deal.
The one place Kardashian doesn't get the big money? Fashion Week. She isn't asked to be in the front row for pay, according to fashion insiders.
The money won't always flow in, though. Lindsay Lohan used to draw in $60,000 or more to appear in the front row at fashion shows. These days she's lucky to get in to see the shows live, let alone get a paycheck to appear.
Are you surprised celebs get so much money to appear at events?
