Both Chris Brown and Rihanna are sporting new tattoos. Rihanna's Isis tattoo underneath her breasts is a shocking tribute to her late grandmother. Ri Ri posted a photo of the body art on Twitter with the touching caption, "Goddess Isis- Complete Woman - Model for future generations- #GRANGRANDOLLY - always in and on my heart."
Breezy's fresh ink is also surprising. The R&B singer-dancer is now wearing a sketch on the side of his neck of a woman who looks very similar to Ms. Robyn Fenty. The woman's face in Brown's tat also appears to be badly bruised, an odd choice for a man with a felony battery conviction.
Rihanna and Chris continue to be linked in the news. As the Bajan singer recently told Oprah Winfrey, Brown was the love of her life. The strange ink on the embattled exes, however, is just the latest in the time-honored tradition of celebrity tattoos.
Let's look at recent celeb ink.
Miley's short, spiky haircut made waves this summer but before there was the drastic 'do, there was a new tattoo. Liam Hemsworth's fiancee is famously a lover of tats. Her latest is an unexpected quote from former President Theodore Roosevelt. Miley Ray's tattoo reads, "So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who knew neither victory nor defeat."
Gaga is also a big lover of fresh ink. The avant-garde performer is never predictable so why would her tattoos be? Stefani Joanne Germanotta picked up the new body art while on a European tour for "Born This Way." Mother Monster's newest tat is a ship's anchor. She posted a photo of the ribcage piece with the caption, "New Tat. Stamp of His Mermaid."
The Biebs is one tatted up teen! At the beginning of the summer late night funnyman David Letterman teased Justin about his new "Believe" tattoo. Letterman quipped, "How many do you have?" The two then had a playful physical skirmish. When the talk show host released Justin, Bieber joked, "Grandpas."
Earlier this year the comic made the wise choice to remove the matching tattoo he shared with ex-wife Katy Perry. Now the single Russell has fresh ink. Brand's arm tattoo reads, "Lord, make me a channel of thy peace." The prayer is in tribute to Russell's previous battles with various addictions.
What do you think of these celeb tattoos? Is a breastplate piece a fitting tribute to one's grandmother? Is Breezy's new tat really Rihanna?
