MIAMI, FL -- Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt aren't the only celebrity parents overjoyed at having welcomed twins this year. Latin pop singer Ricky Martin is thrilled that his sons -- Matteo and Valentino -- entered his life in 2008.

"I'm so happy," Ricky told People magazine about the twins he welcomed via a surrogate in August. "Everything they do, from smiling to crying, feels like a blessing. Being a father feels amazing. This has been the most spiritual moment in my life."

Though they are just four months old, Ricky said the boys are already so very different.

"Valentino loves to sleep. I call him 'Mr. Peace and Love' because he's so chill and serene," Ricky told the mag. "Matteo is more alert and active. He was up at 3 AM the other night and just hanging!"

And though two boys make double the trouble, Ricky is thrilled to experience parenthood on his own.

"I don't have a nanny," Ricky revealed. "I'm doing this on my own because I don't want to miss a moment. I have a personal assistant who helps me, someone who takes care of me while I'm taking care of them, but I'm the one who changes the diapers, the one that feeds them, the one that bathes them, the one that puts them to sleep. For any parent, the first couple of months tend to get a little bit intense."

The "She Bangs" singer said he chose to have the children via a surrogate because he just couldn't wait to be a dad.

"Adoption was one option, but it's complicated and can take a long time," he admitted. "Surrogacy was an intriguing and faster option. I thought, 'I'm going to jump into this with no fear.'"

And he has. Ricky said he is already immersing his little ones in the arts.

"I love to read books to my sons and tell them stories," he said. "I play music for them so they develop their own personalities. I want to give them information and raise them with honesty and love, and give them self-esteem and a lot of acceptance."

sorry but as much as i am sure he is a caring father... why go ahead and have children via a surrogate when he could have adopted.. there are so many children that need homes... sorry but if he is really so caring then adopt or foster! it is just narcissistic.
