Richie Sambora Supporting Locklear While She Seeks Help

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- While his ex-wife seeks treatment for "psychological issues," Richie Sambora is ready to support Heather Locklear any way he can, according to People.

Earlier this week, the 46-year-old Locklear checked herself into a treatment facility in Arizona dealing with anxiety and depression. And while they may no longer be together, Sambora is still firmly in Locklear's corner.

"Without a doubt, he's there for his daughter and her mother," a friend of Sambora told People. "They may be divorced, but they are raising a little girl they both love very much."

Sambora and Locklear split in 2006 after being married for 12 years. They have a 10-year-old daughter, Ava.

And while the rocker is on the road touring with Bon Jovi in England until the end of the month, if Locklear calls on her ex, the friend says he'll be there for her.

"I'm sure he's available if Heather should need something and certainly for Ava," the friend added.

A rep for Locklear released the following statement to Access Hollywood when news of the celebrity entering the facility broke this week:

"Heather has been dealing with anxiety and depression. She requested an in-depth evaluation of her medication and entered into a medical facility for proper diagnosis and treatment. This is a confidential medical matter and no further statement will be released."

    That's what she says, but I don't believe it. She just left him for nothing and then Denise came along and scooped him up? Not happening. They were seeing each other before I think.

    WOW, thats really cool... we all have issues, glad to see that she is getting the help that she needs... yeah she might have $$$$ but when you are mental and got issues it affects ones with $$$$ and the ones with out no discrimination.

    Let's not forget, she filed for divorce from him. And believe, I can't stand Denise Richards, but he did not start dating her until Heather left him. The real thing here is that Heather and Ava need his support right now and that's the bottom line. Ex's can in fact be friends too.
