Report: George Clooney & Sarah Larson Split

Access Hollywood - May 28, 2008 2:08 PM PDT

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- George Clooney has split with his girlfriend of almost a year, Sarah Larson, according to several reports.

A rep for the "Leatherheads" star said "I do not comment on George's personal life," when contacted by Access Hollywood but sources told both In Touch Weekly, who first reported the news, and People.com, that the two had split.

Larson, 29, previously told the Las Vegas Review Journal that she met Clooney, 47, while he was celebrating his birthday several years ago at the Green Valley Ranch in Vegas.

The two started dating last June when the actor returned to Vegas for the "Ocean's Thirteen" premiere.

Larson attended the Oscars with Clooney this past February. On the red carpet she told Access Hollywood that dating such a well known man was great, but she occasionally wanted to escape the glare of being in the spotlight.

"Yeah, for the most part," she said when asked whether she had gotten used to dating the star. "Every now and then I run away and escape and hide for a few weeks."

It is not a matter of sexuality, but of the basic need to get along with another person every time you are with them. Sexual attraction is only one component of a very complex system that is called "a human being." Sarah Larson seems to be a nice young woman with a lot of potential, but being with George Clooney would not solve all of her problems. He is a complex man; who knows

He's gay. She was just for show, like all the other women he's "dated". He's never had a lasting relationship with a woman. Come on folks. He's gay. He has all the earmarks.

Marriage ain't all it's cracked up to be. I wouldn't put on another wedding dress......but for the first time I'm happy! Really happy. I think some men (especially when they can get whomever they want), feel like there might be something better. That something better never ends, though. Then pretty soon your old and.....well, time's up. Hope it was fun

Laughing: You mention your "gay" friends, i.e., homosexuals. Honstly, do you get together with these friends and talk about entertainers alleged sexuality? BORING!

Porkys_backyard is correct. Marriage is not for everyone. It is not for some priests, all nuns and many normal others. Why this shallow rhetoric about homosexuality and not getting along? It seems some are more interested in sexual matters regarding entertainers, perhaps because their own sex life is utterly unfulfilled. Hm? Moreover, why prejudge Mr Clooney regarding a future friend or steady?

It is very sad...all the ACTORS /ACTRESSES in the world just wanted to "Act"....but no, the media has to "Create THEIR scenes for them" - Truth at its Worse. What really would happen if THEY were just left alone to live. What truly would the media do then? What a great thought...how would that play out....hummm. I have ideas. Would truth be really boring? He's an immature, commitmentphobic, manchild. A woman is crazy to get involved with him hoping for anything permanent- if she's just in it for a temporary good time, then that's another story. She's waaaay too good for him.
