MUMBAI, India -- Things are moving forward with new homes for "Slumdog Millionaire" child stars Rubina Ali and Azharuddin Ismail, Danny Boyle told reporters in Mumbai, India, on Wednesday.

The two children and their families have been homeless since the recent bulldozing of their previous residences, which caused international headlines.

"It's obviously a terrible concern," Danny said, according to Reuters. "The trust is making progress in making sure they have good, solid, legal accommodation to live in, so that they are not vulnerable to things that happen."

He reportedly added that a home has been purchased for Azharuddin, with one for Rubina coming shortly.

However, Rubina's father, Rafiq Qureshi, said that he's tired of waiting for his share of the Oscar-winning film's success.

"It has been six months now that we haven't got any house to live," he said. "Isn't it their responsibility to provide them houses?"

Danny and producer Christian Colson previously set up the Jai Ho Trust, named after the song that closes the film, to pay for the education and living expenses of the children until the age of 18.

That idiot father has the nerve to say its someone else's responsibility to provide his child a home? WTF? its pig like him that pull down the rest of India. And as to the first comment made by Jennifer, he is not a typical foreigner, IMO, my parents moved here with a months worth of money and medical degrees. no one gave them anything and now they could hire Jennifer to clean their toilet

TYPICAL FOREIGNER, ALWAYS THINKING THEY ARE OWED SOMETHING. JUST LIKE THE PHILLIPINOS WHO DRIVE MERCEDES, BMWS AND HAVE MILLION DOLLAR HOMES BUT THEN WHEN THEY LOSE IT THEY ARE KISSING OUR ASSES.

I just hate it when people (rich or poor) feel like they are owed something that doesnt even belong to them. The kids starred in the movie-thats all, of course the directors might have some social responsibility towards these families. The guy was generous enough to provide them with proper housing, it doesnt mean he owed them anything. I just hope this housing *ish gets sorted soonest.

Hopefully Boyle the producers will CUT all ties with these children and their families, after housing is settled.

those kids were paid so Danny Boyle isn't obligated to buy them houses, even though I think he's really nice to do so. The father sounds like a real ass and also money hungry.

It is the dad's responsibility to provide His kids with homes. People always think they are owed something. He shouldn't even get a "share." Whatever money or property is given should be for the kids.
