According to a recent spoiler, love may be in the air for Brittany (Heather Morris) and Sam (Chord Overstreet) during "Glee's" upcoming Christmas episode.
As E! News reports, "Glee fans hoping for a hookup between Sam and Brittany will surely love the episode, considering New Direction's blonde duo decide to live their lives to the fullest before the Mayan Apocalypse occurs, while Kurt (Chris Colfer) is set to have a Christmas he'll never forget."
Here are a few reasons why most gleeks are not rooting for "Bram."
1. Fans love Brittany and Santana (Naya Rivera) as a couple.
"Brittana" enjoys a devoted following as one of "Glee's" canon couples. What started out as a joke in "Sectionals" evolved into one of the show's most beloved pairings. In addition to being best friends, they have sweet chemistry and understand each other on a level that is unparalleled.
Although Brittany forgot that she even dated Artie (Kevin McHale) and even took his virginity, she is clearly still heartbroken about her breakup with Santana. (They had broken up because of long distance, not lack of love).
2. Fans are rooting for Sam and Mercedes (Amber Riley) as a couple.
While Brittany and Santana were at least given a poignant breakup scene, the writers are completely ignoring the fact that Sam and Mercedes were even an item.
"Samcedes" had some sweet moments as a couple. We loved their duet, "Human Nature." We also felt for her during her performance of "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face."
3. Fans want to see a healthy platonic friendship between a boy and a girl.
Although the writers seem to be obsessed with love triangles and relationship drama, fans just want to see a healthy platonic friendship.
We love the friendship between Sam and Brittany. They had a particularly endearing moment when he comforted her after she lost the election for student body president. But can't a boy and a girl be friends without sex complicating the dynamic?
4. Sam and Brittany look like brother and sister.
Sam has already dated three New Directions members: Quinn (Dianna Agron), Santana, and Mercedes. Do we really want him to hook up with someone who looks like his sister? And wouldn't it be a bit stereotypical to pair the two ditzy blondes together?
Should Sam and Brittany hook up? Or are they better off as friends?
