SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- Rachel McAdams' role opposite Ryan Gosling in "The Notebook" served as the launching point for what would soon prove to be an elite Hollywood career.

But while the love story successfully put Rachel on the Hollywood map, the Hollywood beauty was shocked to hear that someone wants to bring the Nicholas Sparks tear-jerker to Broadway.

"Have you heard that they are doing 'The Notebook' the musical?'" AccessHollywood.com's Laura Saltman asked Rachel at Comic-Con over the weekend.

"No, this is the first time I've heard of this!" Rachel said. "I'm stunned. I'm speechless!"

As previously reported on AccessHollywood.com, "One Tree Hill" star Bethany Joy Galeotti and music producer Ron Aniello are working on launching a musical version of the 2004 big screen romance drama.

According to the producing duo's Web site, they are starting out with a musical workshop in North Carolina as "a preliminary step toward an eventual opening in New York."

And while Galeotti and Aniello will be holding casting calls in early August, if the actors they choose should one day make it to Broadway with the play, Rachel will be the first in line for a ticket.

"I would go see that. I'm curious," Rachel, who was at Comic-Con to promote "Sherlock Holmes," added. "I can't imagine how that would work out, but I would love to see it!"

I really liked the movie "The Notebook" and I just don't think that braodway can capture the tear jerker moments with song and dance... but that's just my opinion

Well, I love Bethany Joy Galeotti and her voice so I would maybe check this out. But are they doing it based on the book or the movie? And how do you sing about alzeheimer's?
