LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- With countless films and numerous box office successes under his belt, Quentin Tarantino is undoubtedly a film force to be reckoned with. From "Reservoir Dogs" to "Kill Bill," every film he has touched has become iconic thanks to his directorial vision, the familiar cast faces and musical elements, as well as his exploitive gore and dark humor.

Tarantino's latest film, "Inglourious Basterds" will debut nationwide on August 21. The war film starring Brad Pitt, which was inspired by the Italian feature of a similar namesake, will put a new spin on America's role in World War II and redefine revenge with Quentin's gruesome guerrilla tactics.

10. 'True Romance': Love Is Pain
The second film written by Tarantino, the romantic crime thriller stars Clarence the conman (Christian Slater) and Alabama the call girl (Patricia Arquette) who plan to get rich from stolen cocaine. Things get rocky when the original owners --the mafia-- are on to the criminal couple. Mobsters, cops, and agents unite in the final climactic scene, barging into the crew's hotel room. It's a Tarantino standoff at its finest. A gun is shot, sending the scene into a full-blown shootout, the cops killing everyone in sight. Alabama lives and almost loses her true love, Clarence, to a shot through the eye. He survives and, alas, the romance continues.

9. 'Death Proof': Buckle Up
In Tarantino's fifth feature film, a jaded stunt man named Mike (Kurt Russell) uses his "death proof" car as a killing machine, terrorizing young southern women. His next targets don't turn out to be the nice girls he hoped for. Ready for revenge, these three girls - Zoe, Kim and Abernathy -- give stuntman Mike a taste of his own medicine with a violent car chase and a harmless game of "Ship's Mast," which involves stuntwoman Zoe being belted to the hood of the car. The last scene ends with a gruesome beating, the final lethal blow delivered by Abernathy to Mike's head.

8. 'Kill Bill Vol. 2': Keep Your Eyes Open
The only thing better than one Tarantino movie? A double-dose of the movie master, which is exactly what moviegoers got with "Kill Bill Volumes 1 and 2." In this classic eye-popping moment (literally!), Beatrix, aka The Bride (Uma Thurman) pays a visit to a patch-wearing Elle Driver (Daryl Hannah) and promptly plucks out her remaining eye - all in the name of sweet revenge.

7. 'Kill Bill Vol. 2': Six Feet Under
Even being six feet under can't stop this trained assassin. The aforementioned Beatrix finds herself buried alive by Bill's bud Budd (Michael Madsen) and must use her knowledge of Chinese martial arts to escape the "dim" situation.

6. 'Kill Bill Vol. 1': Watch Out Vernita Green
Talk about making the rounds! Our bloodthirsty Bride bent on revenge heads over to the home of Vernita Green (Vivica A. Fox), another Deadly Viper, to try out her new knife. Although they decide to postpone their fight when Vernita's daughter gets home - after all, let's spare the kids from the violence, right?! -- Vernita tricks The Bride on her way out -- which turns out to be a lethal mistake.

5. 'Kill Bill Vol. 1': Crazy 88
The first dose of the epic drama boasts two great fight scenes with the show-stopping assassin, The Bride. She flees to Japan to confront Deadly Viper O-Ren Ishii (Lucy Liu) at the House of Blue Leaves. The fight scene quickly escalates when the Crazy 88 come to O-Ren's aid. The gory scene ends with a severed head, making it hard to escape the memory. Now that's how you close the joint down!

4. 'Pulp Fiction': Right Through The Heart
The movie that put Tarantino on the mainstream map. Although her shimmies and shakes got the story in motion, Mia (Thurman) once again stole the show with a deadly heroin overdose. After mistaking Vincent's drug of choice for cocaine, she goes into a catatonic state. The powerful is scene is marked by Mia gasping for air after a shot of adrenaline is stabbed through the chest. Patricia Arquette's Jody sums it up best - "that was f****** trippy."

3. 'Reservoir Dogs': Splitting Hairs... & Ears
True to the film's tone, the scene that really stands out is a little less subtle. In the vein of violence, Michael Madsen dances a few steps to "Stuck in The Middle With You" before changing his tune and chopping off Kirk Baltz's ear with a straight razor. He plans to set his victim on fire but unfortunately someone else finishes the job for him.

2. 'Reservoir Dogs': Iconic Opener
The feature directorial debut for Tarantino - and what a debut it was! Unlike some of his films, "Reservoir Dogs" was largely hailed by critics, and deservedly so. The iconic opening sequence featured future Quentin favorites such as Harvey Keitel, Michael Madsen, Tim Roth and Steve Buscemi walking down the street in slow motion to the track "Little Green Bag."

1. 'Pulp Fiction': Mia & Vincent Cut A Rug
Tarantino's circular narrative starts off with a bang as Pumpkin and Honey Bunny rob a diner. The next plot twist happened to be the dance. Vincent (John Travolta), a mob hit man who is ordered to play escort for the boss's wife. While dining at a campy 50's restaurant, Marsellus' fiery beau, Mia, won't take no for an answer when she pulls Vincent onstage for a spin in a twisting contest. Iconic.
