Producer: Katie Holmes 'Perfect' For Upcoming Broadway Role

NEW YORK, NY -- Katie Holmes is "perfect" for her upcoming role on Broadway, according to the producer of the show.

Eric Falkenstein, who is producing "All My Sons," the Arthur Miller play Holmes will star in alongside John Lithgow and Patrick Wilson, said the actress has already made an impact during table reads of the script. And, though she has starred in a host of Hollywood films, she hasn't brought any drama to practice.

"As a producer on 'Long Day's Journey Into Night,' believe me, I've worked with touchy characters. She's not," the 30-something Falkenstein told the NY Post's Cindy Adams. "She's a student. Inquisitive. Took notes at our first table-read. Asked questions. Loves being around theater people. When she signed on she came here to a bare rehearsal room for a read-through. She didn't ask for anything. She was just sweet and deferential."

Holmes will play Ann, a Midwestern girl, in the production and they are thrilled to have her.

Falkenstein told the paper he was able to recruit Holmes through his relationship with her agents, but it took "about four months" to sort out the logistics of getting her to do the play.

"There were also family issues," Falkenstein said. "She and Tom are committed to keeping the family together, so they have to get an apartment here."

Rehearsals on the play begin this summer, with plans for an October opening.

The play will run for about 16 weeks and the Post reported that despite Holmes' fame, there won't be an increase in the ticket price.

Is this a revival of "The Stepford Wives" ? If not, then why is it news ? She has been brainwashed by the worst cult on earth presently. In some ways I think this may be worse that the bad mormons (ones marrying kids and having a lot of wives) = NOT the good Mormons. And then they are worse than Al-Quida aren't they. Cults worldwide are BAD news.

I used to think she was a sinking ship, as an actress. However, after her performance (pretending that she and Tom) are normal, I suspect she'll be a shoe in for a Tony.

All My Sons is not a musical, you nitwit. It's a drama about familial relationships. The real question is, is she a trained stage actress? Most stage actors can adjust to film, but many film actors are not so adept at stage acting.
