Prince William spoke of the "emptiness" he feels on Mother's Day since the death of his mother, princess Diana.
"Losing a close family member is one of the hardest experiences that anyone can endure," he said at an event for the Child Bereavement Charity, which his mother once supported.
"Never being able to say the word 'mummy' again in your life sounds like a small thing," said William, whose mother died in a car crash in Paris almost 12 years ago, when he was 15.
