Pretty Little Liars First Look: Things Don't Look Good for the Couples

"A" has made it her mission to break up the Pretty Little Liars couples, and when the show returns Jan. 2, she shows no signs of letting up.

In the first-look clip from the season premiere below, Aria (Lucy Hale) bumps into Ezra (Ian Harding) on the street in Rosewood and explains why she's been avoiding him. "I can't let anything bad happen to you," Aria says. "Something bad has happened, you won't let me see you," he replies.

Meanwhile, Toby (Keegan Allen) won't give up on Spencer (Troian Bellisario), even though she wants nothing more than to move on. "You have to stay away from me," she says in the clip below.

But at least there's hope for Hanna (Ashley Benson) and Caleb (Tyler Blackburn). In the final clip, Hanna comes home to find her boyfriend has returned from California and runs into his arms. But will their happiness last?

Pretty Little Liars returns on Monday, Jan. 2 at 8/7c on ABC Family.
