Awkward alert!
At Sunday's Kennedy Center Honors, President Bush honored his
famous foe
Barbra Streisand for her contributions to American
culture.
He kissed her on the cheek -- and she smooched him back, The
Associated Press reports.
See what a body language expert had to say about
these famous smooches.
"Art transcends politics this weekend," said Streisand, a longtime
Democrat who has previously claimed that Bush's election wins in
2000 and 2004 were stolen.
She added that it would have been "lovely" if she could have
received the award while President-elect Barack Obama was in
office.
The kiss-and-hug exchange was later replayed at a gala, and the
crowd -- including
Morgan Freeman, First lady Laura Bush and
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice -- couldn't help but crack
up.
Streisand's distaste for Bush is so strong, her step-son Josh
Brolin recently told
W magazine, that she didn't want him to
play the Republican president in the new
Oliver Stone biopic.
Check out how closely these stars resemble the real
people they've played in movies.
"She said, 'How much are you getting paid?' I told her it was a
very low fee. She said, 'Then why are you doing it?'
He added, "She was furious and would not talk to me."
