My son came home after his secound tour in the middle east and hung himself. This is no JOKING matter, #$%$......

How sad he had issues and couldn't find the help he needed to be safe.

Aging and ailments can fog ones thinking. Get well soon and accept help if its offered.

I have had symptoms of depression as long as I can remember in my 51yrs on this earth. I have tried to 'cure' myself with alcohol, drugs, therapy, etc and I have never been cured. I have also had an unsucessful suicide attempt. Society has no problem placing labels on people who suffer from mental illness. No one seems to even acknowledge it, unless it hits you where you live. Most often times people like myself suffer in silence to avoid the stigma that accompanies mental illness. All I ask is this. Please try to treat people as you wish to be treated. A little compassion and understanding can make a huge difference in the lives of others. If you see sudden and unexplained 'changes' in a person's behavior, mood, actions or whatever. It could be a sign that someone may be in a 'crisis' situation (or heading for one). Sometimes a kind word, or just letting someone know that you love or care about them may actually save a person's life.
