So far a detective has not been assigned to the case. When this occurs, the detective will begin contacting both parties to take their statements about the incident to determine whether a prosecutable crime actually occurred.

The photographer had reportedly been following Gerard by car after the star left an LA bar. Allegedly, Gerard punched him several times, bloodying the photographer's lip.

GB you are a dream. Will the paparazzi (photographer's) ever learn? There is a line and one must be drawn but as long as people have no lives they will continue to buy the "SHI*" magazines keeping this trash employed. I suspect Mr. Butler repeatedly asked this Photographer/whore to stop - but h refused and got what he deserved. you go Mr. Sexy

We commented on the pap's behavior - but swoon and ogle the pics they take of our favorite celebs. And from the comments, we seem to know a lot about Gerard's personal life. So I don't think the pap's are going to put down camera's anytime soon, until we change and quit accessing sites to view the photos and comments.

Maybe if we all would stop buying up American Media products, stop giving shows like Extra and E! New Daily high ratings and quit chain posting on these celeb sites, the papparazzi would move on to some other career. As long as we pay them to stalk these folks they will continue to do so. Sad but very true.

Gosh he is handsome! these creepy paparazzi deserve every sock in the eye they get, they have a way of ticking off the most sensitive celebs like Gerry, Russell Crow, Sean Penn, it's like the pick the toughest ones to get up in their face and intentionally get their butts kicked so they can try and sue! countersue most definitely!
