LONDON, England, U.K. -- As a former tabloid editor, Piers Morgan has seen a lot of things, but he's never seen anything quite like this year's "Britain's Got Talent."

"I was talking to Simon Cowell last night about it," Piers told Access Hollywood on Monday. "We were both saying, in all our careers and the various things we have been involved with -- big stuff -- we can never remember quite the phenomenon that this year's 'Britain's Got Talent' has been... It's been crazy."

Susan Boyle, 48, from Blackburn, Scotland, became the breakout star of the show after wowing judges Piers, Simon and Amanda Holden.

But she also captured the hearts of people everywhere with her rendition of "I Dreamed A Dream" from the musical "Les Miserables," back in April - a performance that garnered over 100 million YouTube views.

"She's gone from anonymity -- completely unknown -- to becoming one of the most famous women on the planet in several weeks," Piers said of Susan's instant fame.

In the run up to the final, which was held this past Saturday, several reports came out in the British tabloids alleging that Susan lashed out verbally at two reporters and a policeman.

Piers previously told Access that in the wake of the headlines, Susan considered quitting the show, but she put it all to the back of her mind over the weekend and put in a performance that Piers said was remarkable.

"To go on that stage with all the world's pressure on her shoulders... and perform like that on Saturday? I thought it was incredible," Piers said.

Despite all of her efforts, Susan was upset at the final show by dance group Diversity.

However according to Piers, this is not the end of the road for Susan.

"The sky's the limit for Susan," he said. "It's been one of the most extraordinary stories I have ever been involved with -- and she's a delightful lady."

Susan is Irish not English as the Britain's but I love to hear her sing and can not wait to buy her album. She sings like an angel and when folks hear her sing she gives them hope. In this world we live in that is such a precious gift, it' s like chicken soup for the soul. Please get well soon Susan, the world is waiting on you!!!

We all know why the brits didn't like Susan. She's not one of them. She's from Scotland. It's a shame that Susan had to be the target for the brits ignorant supereority complex. GOD has given Susan a beautiful gift, and I know she will do well with her singing career. Let's see how many cd's a dancing group will sell. I'm thinking the answer
