LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- PETA has never had a problem challenging celebrities who wear fur -- no matter how big the superstar. But now, the animal rights organization is taking aim at perhaps the littlest offender yet - Suri Cruise.

Access Hollywood has obtained a letter sent from PETA Vice President Dan Mathews to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, which warns the celebrity parents against dressing their toddler in fur fashion from a famous designer.

"Greetings from PETA, where we've always admired your fur-free personal style," the letter began. "Because you are among the most highly visible wearers of Giorgio Armani, we are obliged to alert you to a distressing situation that has arisen with the company."

The letter goes on to claim that the couple should be leery of outfits Armani sends for 2-year-old Suri, because the popular designer allegedly uses "bunny fur."

"Please be vigilant about any packages that Armani sends for Suri, as they could include bunny fur from his toddler lines," PETA claimed. "We imagine that Suri, like other children, has a natural affinity for animals, which is why we find it shocking that Armani is not only breaking his fur-free promise but also trying to lure children into fashion derived from skinned rabbits."

A little more than a year ago, Armani gave an interview to Time magazine, where the legendary designer admitted his meetings with PETA had "convinced me not to use fur."

"Unfortunately, he's gone back on his word," the letter stated.

In making their plea to Tom and Katie, PETA also asked the couple to use their star power to sway Armani's decision to use fur.

"We also ask that you please use your considerable influence with Mr. Armani to urge him to keep his word and leave fur out of future collections," the letter concluded.

I am an animal rights activist...but I am not a WHACKO. I am not a PETA person, I am on my own. I do agree though that people have their choice of what they can wear. I may think fur is ugly and cruel and wrong..... but that doesn't mean that they can't wear fur it is their choice.

Anyone who bags on PETA is obviously ignorant to what they really represent.PETA does go after the fur farmers in China,Europe etc. The reason PETA has to go after the designers is if they stop buying then the killing will curtail.Another reason they have to go after the designers becasue designers set the standards for fashion and everyone seems to follow. The animals are brutally skinned ALIVE!!!

peta is the one who should be banned. it is not against the law to wear fur. it is our given right to choose what we want to do or wear. but when you(peta) use violence and aggressiveness to get your beliefs off on other people, your no more better than the ones you point out! so, when i see someone attack someone with a can of paint, or flour, while screaming obscenities, its scary and dangerous

PETA is crazy... They have to go after the fur producing companies, not the manufacuters of the clothing. I'm as anti-fur as anybody else, but what the heck will Suri Cruise do about it? I swear, that girl is going to end up in the crazy house if people keep involving her in things.

What in the hell does abortion have to do with this article??? And for the record, most people who are pro-choice are also pro-life. The big difference is that unlike anti-choicers, we don't feel we have the right or the authority to dictate to other people how they live their lives. If abortion is a sin, then people who have them will have to answer to their higher power. Judge not and al
