LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Paula Abdul may make an appearance after all on "So You Think You Can Dance?," her former boss, ex-"American Idol" producer Nigel Lythgoe, Tweeted on Friday.

"I saw Paula @ the 'Power of Women' event yesterday. I asked her to come on SYTYCD again and she said she would. I hope she means it?" Nigel, a producer and judge on the show, Tweeted.

Both were in attendance at Variety's 1st Annual Power of Women event in Los Angeles on September 24, also attended by such stars as Sigourney Weaver, Anne Hathaway, Christina Applegate and many others.

Reps for Paula and "So You Think You Can Dance" did not immediately return calls from Access Hollywood.

An award-winning choreographer and dancer as well as a successful pop singer, Paula has been strongly rumored to be joining a dance show. In August, Nigel told reporters at a FOX Television Critics Association panel in Pasadena, California, that he had indeed reached out to Paula - but didn't want to bring her on as a judge.

"At this moment in time we're talking about opportunities, not just as a judge on this program, but opportunities for Paula. So that's what I'd like to continue with," Nigel said at the time.

However, "So You Think You Can Dance" added a third judge, Adam Shankman, to the table alongside himself and Mary Murphy, earlier this month, leaving the show's options open.

Paula's most recent gig was hosting and performing at the "VH1: Divas" show, which aired September 17.

    I have never commented on any of these posts, but I have been an avid fan of SYTYCD from the beginning and have only become to love it more and more each year. I was once a fan of Amercan Idol, but lost interest awhile back. I would LOVE to see Paula on SYTYCD. She would bring such a view that would only better the dancers and give the viewers a prof opinion to help make their vote. GO PAULA!!!!!!

    To all you people who have negative thoughts about Paula Abdul, The box you are staring at is called a television. On Television, people play roles that entertain you the audience. These roles are not necessarily the inner person the entertainer is, but the person you want to love or hate. I happen to know Paula and she has not come close to revealing the true passionate person she is. Brad W.
