Details of former Beatle Paul McCartney's divorce to charity campaigner Heather Mills may be made public, reports out Britain suggested earlier today.

McCartney and Mills had been in court earlier this month, attempting to reach an agreement in their split. However, a judge was given the power to work out a settlement when the couple was unable to reach a mutual agreement.

On Wednesday, a judge confirmed he will make his ruling on the split on March 17, the UK's Times reported.

Since the hearings earlier this month were shrouded in secrecy, the possible release of the divorce details has been dubbed an "unusual move" in the British press.

The judge will make a formal decision on whether to make his ruling public on the same day McCartney and Mills hear the ruling.

If either party does not agree with the judge's ruling, the divorce proceedings could continue in an appeals court. However, at that stage the case would become public, according to The Times.
