LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The Parents Television Council is spreading "Gossip" about "90210."

The watchdog group warned advertisers on Tuesday about committing to the new "90210" based its network's racy history with "Gossip Girl," according to E!

"I think it's fair to say that The CW has been a bad actor, particularly when it comes to 'Gossip Girl,'" Dan Isett, director of public policy for the PTC, told E!

No advance copies of "90210" episodes have been released or screened, making the group's criticism of the show an educated guess.

"We haven't assumed anything about the show," Isett said. "But I think that The CW has already demonstrated that they'll stoop to any level in a rather desperate attempt to build buzz. It stands to reason '90210' is going to be a similar type show."

"Gossip Girl" caught the attention of critics thanks to its provocative "OMFG" ad campaign, which depicted actors from the show on billboards in suggestive positions. The show's current campaign -- full of similarly heated imagery - has responded by turning the critics' own words against them, quoting choice lines like "Every parent's nightmare" in the advertisements.

The promotional campaign for "90210" has been considerably less confrontational, but if actress Jessica Stroup has anything to say about it, the shows may soon share more than a network.

"I keep saying, let's cross, let's hybrid, let's go over to New York and do a little 'Gossip Girl' stint," she told Access Hollywood at a recent set visit. "Let's take a spring break trip to New York or they can come out to us. Let's just combine."

Just what we need government control on our tv set and a parents group telling us what is best for our kids...How about this, Mind your own business and let me decide what is best for my kids to watch. You don't like it move to communist country where they tell you what you can or cannot watch.

Anything pandered out by Hollywood is just that, pander, whores, poor behaviour parents allowing children to be raised by the TV and media have to point the finger at themselves when their sons and daughters worship in any form the trash that wHore-town spews as entertainment, if everyone stopped watching the smut and trash then maybe the Whore mongers in Hollywood might go away

Secondly, are there any real parents left out there that will actually “parent” their children and control what they are seeing in t.v. or just willy-nilly and spineless adults that do not know right from wrong, and good from evil. Get a clue. Television is now Hellevision. No child or adult with any morals should be subjected to this garbage.

First off, what is the age group of the producers and directors of these “shows”? Are they all pubertal – if not in age, then in their thinking and behavior? If so, then there’s your answer regarding the content / material of these so-called programs. They are all about one thing, promoting sex; no matter what age group and that is all it is all about.

I love Gossip Girl. I loved the original BH90210. I'm only watching the spin off for Kelly and Brenda. But, for the love of god, please DON'T cross over. GG/SN? Hell yes. GG/90210? *cries* NO! Unless Brenda takes a trip to NYC and meets the new %@!*# in town. Because these 90210 kids have absolutely NOTHING on the UESers.
