‘Once Upon A Time’ Recap: Regina’s Intentions Are Revealed

Regina finally tries to finish Emma off — but her plan ends up exposing the truth!

On the May 6 episode of Once Upon A Time, Regina (Lana Parrilla) had some very vivid dreams that everyone in Storybrooke was rising against her, with the best part of the entire dream — and the episode — being Emma (Jennifer Morrison) back in her red jacket!

Queen Regina offered to pay Prince Charming’s (Josh Dallas) “father” so she could use James to hurt his one true love and her one true enemy. Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) formed an army to help her retrieve Prince Charming from the evil hands of the Queen, and I must admit, Snow White was pretty bad-a with a sword.

When she finally reached the Prince, a magic mirror held an image of her true love, but he actually resided at the Queen’s castle. All the Queen wanted was to speak with Snow, the one she truly had qualms with. They rehashed old memories, and Regina promised Charming would live if Snow ate an apple that would trap her in her own body to remember all of her regrets — but it had to be eaten willingly. Of course, since she’s willing to sacrifice herself for love, Snow White ate the apple and, well, we all know how that story ends.

Using a “magic trick” was Regina’s last resort. She asked Jefferson, aka The Mad Hatter (Sebastian Stan), to use his hat so they could return to the fairy tale land and obtain a solution to finally get rid of Emma. In return, Jefferson wanted Regina to write him and his daughter a new story so they could have a fresh start in Storybrooke. (Um… You do realize what happened the last time you made a deal with Regina, don’t you, Jefferson?) It turned out there wasn’t enough magic for a portal, but Jefferson reached through the hat and grabbed… the apple that was meant to kill Snow White!

Emma planned to leave town, but only with conditions for Regina — she wanted to be able to visit and spend time with her son. Regina agreed, and she even gave Emma some apple turnovers for the road. To prove a point, Henry (Jared Gilmore) consumed the deadly treat and fell to the floor. If that didn’t convince Emma that something was going wrong in Storybrooke, then nothing could.

The ultimate battle of good vs. evil will finally go down on next week’s epic season finale of Once Upon A Time, and I can’t wait to see the Evil Queen crumble at the hands of Emma Swan!

What did you think of tonight’s episode? Do you think Emma finally has what it takes to defeat Regina, or do you predict Regina will find a way to stop her? The finale is almost here, so hit up the comments section with your reviews and theories!
