Olympic gold medal winners Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps are finally done with the Olympics - Phelps for good, Lochte until Rio in 2016. Don't assume they're about to sit on the couch and eat bags and bags of chips (that's what we would do.) Instead, these Mer-men already have projects lined up for when they get back to the States.
Ryan Lochte: The Newest Reality Star?
Blinged-out swimmer Lochte is ready to take on the world with his dance moves - and he wants to find a new lady, too. The 27-year-old swimming champ has said he wants to star on both "Dancing With the Stars" and "The Bachelor."
Why dancing? It's all about the competition.
"I'd definitely have to go with 'Dancing with the Stars' because it's a competition and I have that competitive edge in me," Lochte told "Good Morning America" last week.
And as for "The Bachelor"? Well, what guy wouldn't want to pick from a bevy of beautiful ladies? Nothing has been confirmed yet, but his agent Erika Wright said they're working on two reality show deals for the near future. Of course, "The Bachelor" could be one of them, but Ali Fedowtosky's former fiance, Roberto Martinez, is said to be the next star of the hit ABC reality show.
Then again, Lochte could go for something original, like a show that follows his crazy daily life.
"It'd probably definitely wouldn't be your normal reality TV show because I'm not definitely not your normal guy," he told "Good Morning America."
We'd watch, Ryan.
Michael Phelps Takes on a New Sport
Phelps might be the most decorated Olympic athlete of all time for his prowess in the pool, but his new project will put him in unfamiliar territory. The swimmer will star in "The Haney Project" on the Golf Channel, a show featuring Tiger Woods' former coach Hank Haney.
"I want to play all the world's great golf courses, but I'd like to play them well," Phelps said of his new project, adding that he wants to learn how to play golf at high level. "I'm excited about this project with Golf Channel and I'm looking forward to working with Hank and see what we can do together on the golf course."
"The Haney Project" has paired Hank Haney with a number of celebrities during past seasons, including Maroon5's Adam Levine, comedian Ray Romano and former basketball star Charles Barkley.
