"That was always a dream of mine, to have a large family, a huge family, and -- I just longed for certain connections and attachments with another person that I really lacked, I believe, growing up," Nadya told Ann in an excerpt from the interview.

She added that she felt like she was lacking a "feeling of self and identity," calling her childhood "pretty dysfunctional."

She first became pregnant after seven years of trying, thanks to in vitro fertilization -- and said she knew she wanted to do it again.

"Then I just kept going [back]," she said.

The new mom was discharged from the hospital early Thursday after giving birth to six boys and two girls on January 26.

Sorry, but this woman is a nut job. She already has SIX kids before implanting more embryos. How can one person properly look after 14 kids?! These children should be removed from the home, if you can call it that. They'll get no proper looking after and it's not fair to expect their grandmother to raise them, she already raised her kid.

I say how about we leave her alone, she can decide how she is going to provide for her children. she obviously must have thought about it. The more attention we give it, the more it's going to upset you.

What is the difference to any of us between one woman who's unemployed and has 14 kids and 14 women with one kid each. Yes, she'll need tax payer help, but at the end of the day, there will be possibly 13 tax payers boosting up our economy when we're on our pensions. I think it's pretty rich to be so critical of this woman. Has she got issues, yes, just like we all

Taxpayers are going to have to provide for the 14 kids financially but we can't be their for their emotional needs! Suleman is obviously not in touch with reality. She hasn't even slightly proven that she can feed, clothe or have a bed for the children she had before she even got pregnant with the octuplets! There is no way a government child protective services agency can ignore

What this woman has done is despicable- bring 14 babies into the world- intentionally robbing them of a normal life and father, not to mention the health probelms the 8 will have b/c of their prematurity. She is selfish and thinking only of her own SICK needs! It is just wrong, and she can never give her kids all they need and deserve! Being a parent isnt a right- its a HUGE responsibility!

Nessa, you're either an illegal alien or young & naive. It's not my duty(nor the taxpayers) to support this babymaker, one who's willing to pump & squirt out these poor kids for sport. She is or will likely become a welfare recipient long before she gets her intended 'media deals.'

This woman is a professional scam artist. She's popping out 14 children and doing IVF cycles during the ten years that she says that she's completely disabled and can't work. It's people like this who mess up the system so that the truly disabled have a hard time getting benefits when they really need it.

Nessa you're an illegal aren't you? That's the only way I could see you defending this woman. Sorry, it's mean, but I had to say it.

clearly there's something very wrong w/some1 who thinks having 14 kids can make up 4 a siblingless childhood. seems she has the maturity of a child, herself. she can't possibly care 4 14 kids alone, any rational person'd realize that. & now she's gonna make $$ off them. shame on her.

She needs to be investigated for workers compensation fraud! I heard on KFI AM 640 that official records show she's collected over six figures of our tax money over the past 10 years for a "back injury." And, she's managed to avoid review because she's been pregnant so much. Can you say "milking the system?" I want to hear more about
