  It is so hard to find the right family dog. Can you imagine a dog like Marley tearing up the White House. With the allergy problem they face something with poodle in it is the best bet. I had a Shih-Tsu and my daughter who has allergies was good with it but they require a lot of grooming. They'll do the right thing and know the right dog when they meet it. I love the Obama family.

  Having worked for numerous pediatricians, children's dog allergies are WAY over blown. Any dog that is kept well groomed (bathed) and the house kept clean would be fine for anyone, and surely they have a groomer. It is the dander ALL dogs have, not the fur, that causes the few TRUE allergies. Also, wait and see, they won't find those breeds at a pound and claim they then HAD to
