President-elect Barack Obama and his family are close to picking a First Dog.
He told George Stephanopoulos on ABC's
This Week that his family "seem to have narrowed it down to a Labradoodle or a Portuguese water hound.
See what kind of dogs your favorite stars own."So we're now going to start looking at shelters to see when one of those dogs might come up," he said. "This has been tougher than finding a commerce secretary."

"They seemed to thrive," he said. "I'm trying to figure out why it is that they don't seem to be fazed by anything. They just don't seem to be intimidated.

Obama will be sworn in as president on Jan. 20.
