Nicole Richie and son Sparrow on the cover of People PeopleAccess Hollywood
LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Nicole Richie and Joel Madden's newborn son is only six weeks old -- and he's already had his first cover!
Nicole appears on the cover of People magazine's latest issue with her adorable son, Sparrow James Midnight Madden.

"I couldn't be happier," the proud mom told the mag. "The only thing you want is for your kids to be healthy and happy, and they are. I'm right where I belong."
Nicole, 28, says that she and boyfriend Joel Madden, 30, haven't been getting much sleep since welcoming the newborn to their family - but big sister Harlow, who turns 2 in January, is overjoyed to have a little brother.

"I'm glad I had a girl before I had a boy," Nicole said. "She just loves him so much."
And Joel, the lead singer of Good Charlotte, noted that Harlow has been extra careful with Sparrow.
"She's very gentle with him," he added.
