Nicole Richie: 'Cried My F-ing Eyes Out' Watching 'Grey's Anatomy' Wedding

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- As wedding bells were ringing on Thursday's "Grey's Anatomy," the tears were flowing in front of TV sets across the country.

In the emotional build-up to next week's two-hour season finale, plans for the much-anticipated wedding between Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey) were put on hold, only to see another Seattle Grace couple walk down the aisle.

And as the cancer-stricken Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl) made her way to the altar where boyfriend Alex Karev (Justin Chambers) was waiting, emotions ran high for the characters - and for fans, including at least one celebrity watching at home.

"Just watched Grey's & cried my f-ing eyes out," Nicole Richie posted on her Twitter page late Thursday night.

AccessHollywood.com's TV insider, "Dish of Salt" Laura Saltman, also found herself reaching for the tissue while watching the on-screen nuptials.

"I nearly drowned in my own tears," Laura said following the show. "Absolutely heartbreaking episode. The best the show has been in two years! Who would've thought womanizer Alex would turn out to be the good guy?"

But for Nicole, there wasn't time to dwell on the "Grey's" tearjerker, as there was more TV to be watched.
