Testimony showed he had several instances of high speed driving, including drunk driving, but the 17-year-old has no criminal record.

In addition to the eight months of incarceration, Hogan must serve five years of probation, which will include 500 hours of community service.

The judge discouraged the reality TV star of "Hogan Knows Best" from including speaking engagements that will garner him "publicity" in his community service hours.

Marine, soldier, or civilian...it doesn't matter. The guy is in a coma, will he recover? Will he be the same as he was before the accident? I think being in a coma is punishment enough. He wasn't wearing his seat belt and knew nick was drinking; so there should be no civil suit.

It Makes Me Sick To Here That People Are So Mad At Nick Why? Because His Friend That Happend To Be In The Car Was A Marine. If It Wasnt For 9-11 You People Wouldnt Even Be Tripping Like That. It Could Have Been Any One Of Us God Has Plans For Everyone Nick Could Have Easily Been In The Same State As The Marine And Then What Would Your Comments Have Been Then????

Why is everyone blaming nick? Just because the passenger is an ex marine that doesnt mean he is completely innocent. He made the choice to get in the car, knowin nick was drinkin and he chose not to put on his seatbelt. His family should not file a civil suit because their son is partially responsible for his own negligence.

I am currently deployed in Afghanistan with the US ARMY, it doesnt matter that guy who is hurt is a ex-marine or not. He took the risk to ride with that Hogan kid.....knowing that it was not safe to do so! So it ultimately is his fault, not the Hogan's boy's. All you people wanna judge them.....you have no idea how that kid feels in jail, it probably haunts him in his dreams....so
