Written by Ian Halperin -- an investigative journalist and author of July's No. 1 bestseller Unmasked: The Final Years of Michael Jackson -- Brangelina Exposed promises to explain how the famous couple "have successfully manipulated the public into believing a glamorous fairytale that bears little resemblance to the reality of the pair's life together," according to a press release.

The heavily-sourced writer then hones in on Jolie's dark past, reporting "new details of her volatile relationship with and estrangement from her father Jon Voight, her struggles with suicidal impulses, her heroin use, her sexual exploits and her remarkable rise to become an Oscar-winning actress."

Halperin will also introduce "the key figure behind the scenes who orchestrated her makeover into a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador."
But all is not well in the Jolie-Pitt household, the books claims.

LEEI'm glad she has her kids to keep her strong as this kind of thing must pull one's guts out. It's a horrible life they chose. I don't know how anyone can put up with the constant glare. It takes strenght.
