Whether you like it or not, people will be watching Season 4 of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" for one reason and one reason only: NeNe Leakes. The outspoken reality star has made more than a few enemies on and off screen. And this season she's in rare form. But her arsenal seems to be founded upon her newly acquired wealth. On the 'Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained' season premiere she seems more obsessed with money than ever. NeNe's segments on the premiere episode aren't even that long. But she manages to cram in at least five references to her "phat" bank account.
"I just wrote him the check and just bought him a car, cash money. Hi haters!" (She then blows a kiss for emphasis.)
The first hints that she's gotten beside herself happen early in the episode. She takes her eldest son to a dealership to purchase yet another vehicle, since he's crashed his SUV. She and Bryson bicker back and forth over how fancy his new ride should be. But they finally settle on a clean looking Dodge Charger. She wants her ex-beau/car dealer to knock a few dollars off the car, which he does. The purchase price goes from 14,900K to 13,500K. (Wow---big discount.) But speaking of discounts, why is she worried about a trivial discount if she's making such crazy bank??? On a separate note, does her 21 year-old son not have to work to earn his way in the world? And what happened to college? His drug charges? His pregnant girlfriend? (Sigh.)
"While you were running your mouth with him, I was running to the bank, sweetie---and depositing a Trump check! Donald Trump!"
Here's where things get interesting. During a confrontation with Sheree over a sour business deal, NeNe defends herself against allegations that she took money from her. She wastes no time confirming that money is no object.
"I don't need to take money from anybody. I am very rich, b*tch!"
And just in case Sheree didn't get that NeNe is rolling in dough, she decides to be a little more direct.
"Veneers, hon! $50,000 smile…"
By this time, Sheree's feathers have been ruffled. She fires back, launching into a string of personal insults, making reference to NeNe's new and improved "grill." Yep, you guessed it. Leakes proudly displays her shiny choppers and rattles off how much they cost.
We get a chance to see more of that 50,000 "watt" smile in the sneak peek of future episodes-seemingly as a result of the generosity of her new "boyfriend" who is showering her with gifts from Tiffany's.
"Ching, Ching, Ching", the rambunctious reality star chimes on a few occasions throughout the program---a sublime indication that this has probably become her new motto.
Is NeNe Leakes obsessed with cash? Nahhhh.
