Stanley was one of televisions great character-actors. You'd see him in just about everything, and although you might not know him by name, he always played memorable characters. I even saw him in a Kojak episode from the '70s! My favorite though, was as Rebecca Gayhearts father on 90210.

He died of AIDS. Any fool could see that as we watched him through each episode as he wasted away before our eyes until he started to take on that all too familiar "dying %@!*#ot" look of parchment stretched over a skull. If you're so sick you'll gobble anything in underwear you can expect a fate like that. They love to call it an "alternative lifestyle

My condolences & prayers to his family. It took 2 wks before hearing of his death, I can't believe it! With all the ETV, Entertainment Tonights & other Celebrity news programs! ...he was starting to look a bit sickly on the last set of eps of "Monk" I had just told by grandsons that, did anyone else notice that too? May he rest in peace, now.

How sad. Mr. Kamel was a vital character on the Monk show and his presence was what held Monk together. It should be interesting to see how the writers deal with this recent loss. Mr. Kamel will be missed and always remembered.
